Thoughts.

I made a pit stop at one of my favorite locales today while picking some things up for our bookfair and parent/teacher conferences.

Starbucks. (I'm beginning to think they should pay me for writing about them. Starbucks, are you reading this? Contact me, please.)

I was surprised and alarmed to see that the drive through was twelve cars deep.

It's 42 degrees people. Are you serious?

In the time that I parked my car, walked inside, ordered my drink and walked back to my car, the line had moved enough for two cars to have left.

I'm chalking this up as one of those things that makes absolutely no sense to me. If you seriously have that much time to wait in your car for a coffee, you have too much time. On my trip inside, I again was alarmed and surprised to see that Christmas has already come to Starbucks.

Not only is the store decked out with bells, snowflakes and holly but Christmas tunes are playing, the baristas are dressed with Santa hats.

Did I sleep through November?

Finally, my last stop before returning to the office was to pick up a gift card at a local grocer. There were three cars in the parking lot with dogs inside.

Is this fun to you to bring your dog to the store with you? So that they can sit in the car and bark at people as they walk by?

I love dogs, not quite enough to get my own right now, but love them nonetheless. I just don't understand why you'd bring your dog to the store with you. It's like those people who actually bring their dogs shopping with them in a tote or bag, is your dog your newest accesory?

If I didn't know any better, I'd think that the mama I wrote about yesterday reads my blog because this morning I got an email from her letting me know that she is now too busy to finish a project she was going to do. Where do you think that project fell?

My lap.

Just a few things I'm thinking about today.

So, what's on your mind?

I know it is lazy, but ever since I had my daughter I do everything drive-thru.

I am presently looking for a drive-thru dry cleaner. I may have to travel 20 miles but it will be worth not having to lug a 16 month old and 5 pounds of dirty clothes!

The old me would have gotten out of my car and walked in too.

argh, when will the madness end? if it is not one thing, it's another. just when the pieces get picked up in a certain area of the room, a vase is knocked over and needs to be attended to.

why is it so hard to get older?...

I know about the whole christmas thing...it is coming so fast and businesses are sure helping that feeling. I work in a retail store and in about the middle of October we put up our holiday items and some garland to decorate, yes I did say we did this in the middle of October. Also one of the local radiostations here has already gone to playing 24 hour Christmas music. In a way it gets me all excited on the inside because it reminds me of time with family and giving. It a great warm fuzzy feeling. Hope all is well with the holiday decorations and everything else.

Love, Samantha
