My Not-So-Green Thumb.

Somehow I did not inherit my mother's green thumb. She had a way of planting things and making things look just so and I have a hard enough time keeping a hanging basket alive.

I'm finally at the point where I'm really proud of the plantings I've done outside our house. They've been a total work in progress, adding here and there. I've picked out a few things at nearby nurseries and friends and family have passed on plants that have needed a new home to grow at.

This year I'm proud to say that all my plants are looking great. (Even with the little rain we've had in the last few weeks. I enjoy watering and watching the plants grow and change.) And even my hanging baskets are still alive. Next year maybe we'll be able to tackle a little vegetable garden in the backyard.

Wonderful! I too didn't inherit the green thumb from my mom, but am pretty pleased with my plants this year too.

A vegetable garden would be so good to do, if just for the time you can spend with the kids planning, planting, weeding and eating! I have fond memories of planting carrots with my mom, and being so excited when I got to pull them out and see how big they were.

I'd love to get a vegetable garden going next year too. Our yard is huge, I just don't know where to put it or how to start.

You "DO" have a green thumb, Those flowers look great!

I guess they did need to be thinned out. The ones I kept are just starting to bud out. I also have sedum that I will be dividing, looking for new digs(get it?)

Take time to enjoy your yard as each year it will change. Enjoy the rewards of all your hardwork.

Looks good,
Linda

Well looks like you have a Green Thumb to me. Flowers look wonderful. I have found with my hanging baskets that they need water everyday, if a day is missed they start to dry up.
I to would love to have a veggie garden just don't have the space, but I do plant Cherry tomatos in planter's on my deck every year, they grow great. And are very yummy.

Love You All

Great job on the plants. A green thumb comes with learning. Each year you will improve. I find its all about knowing what plants to get and where they will grow around the house. I have a vegtable garden. Its great when you finally get to eat. This year we put pumpkins in about 10 plants, so far they look great. I hope they stay that way. House looks great S hope to see it soon. Love aunt Janet
