No Such Thing As Silence.

(I decided today is going to be a two-post kind of day. Because I can do that. So if you're just checking in, be sure and check out the contest.)

You know those kind of friends where you can go weeks from talking or months from seeing each other but when you're together it's like no time has passed?

You know those friends who know just what to say when you're having a hard time articulating what you're trying to say but understands nonetheless?

You know those friends that don't always necessarily agree with you or tell you what you want to hear which is why you love talking to them?

You know those friends that you are just comfortable being with whether it's talking and laughing, shopping or sitting in the car looking out the window.

Well, Anne, is one of those friends and I am so lucky to have her as my friend.

This past weekend she visited and I was able to spend Friday night and most of Saturday with her before dropping her off with her grandparents. (We have to share her during her visits.)

Anne and I. March 2008.
I picked her up from the airport Friday night and seriously we talked and talked and talked and talked some more. The entire drive home from the airport we were sharing stories and laughing. We got dinner and laughed and talked some more. We came home and talked and talked and talked some more until 12:30am. (And let me tell you that is late for me.)

It is always nice to see her and catch up and though I wish it were more often, I love that our time together usually feels like an extended coffee visit. Lately our visits are busier and less often so there truly is no such thing as silence as we banter back and forth talking about everything under the sun. This trip was no exception and it again reminded me of why I consider Anne one of my dearest, most kindred friends. Mostly because of how we just click.

(Another add-on bonus of my friendship with Anne, is her mom Deb, who I've also grown to adore.)

Me and Anne. July 2007.

Thanks for a great visit, Anne. Until we meet again...
