A Pig in Mud = A Two Year Old in Powder

I had planned to share a cute little story about H asking me to sing him a song at naptime today. But that was before he decided not to take a nap. Instead he spent two hours in his bedroom talking, singing, laughing, saying "All done, Mama" and playing. Finally it was quiet, and this should have been a sign that something was up.

I noticed that his door was shut, he was quiet and assumed he was sleeping.

Until I opened the door and found this....

You may need to click on the picture to see.
Yes that is a bottle of powder in his hands. And there is powder everywhere. His yellow room is white from top to bottom.

As of right now I have spent over 40 minutes trying to clean it up. It's one thing to vacuum powder off of the floor, it's another to get it off of the toys, books, walls, doors and windows.
And while I spent this time cleaning, H has spread his powdery self around the house and took it upon himself to move a chair to the counter and grab a peanut butter rice krispie bar for his snack.

This is one of those things I think every parent must go through. And still, even though cleaning up powder throughout my house wasn't part of my plan for this afternoon, I'm having a hard time being upset with him.

It doesn't hurt that he's so stinking cute!

Oh my goodness.. LOL It brings back this memory.
Thank God it wasn't Peanut butter, when your Uncle Burl and Richard were small Grandma B. was in the basement cleaning and put both boys in the play room Uncle Richard climbed over the door and got the pail if peanut butter, When Grandma came back upstairs that's all she could smell. when she looked in the playroom both boys were coverd head to toe in the greasy stuff, she couldn't even catch them..What a mess that was, all over the windows and walls. HA-Ha..
How cute it is, Powder Fresh.. Gotta Love it. who can get mad with him.
Love you All

I just literally laughed out loud at this post. Aiden's was a huge can of aerosol hairspray all over the bathroom.
I wonder when H will decide to give himself or the baby a haircut? :P Just wait, it's coming sometime. :)

Powder? Powder!! At least when you opened the door, it smelled pretty nice in there...we had the experience of someone (who shall remain nameless) fingerpainting with something that DIDN'T smell so nice!

Let the H experiences continue - I love your little guy!

I just LOVE the photo of H sitting so innocently next to Pooh, as if he's done nothing at all. At least he managed to get some on his bottom:)
