Breaking The Rules Again.

Yes, we've decked the halls.

With just a little bit of arm twisting Saturday afternoon I convinced J that it was a great weekend to get the Christmas stuff out of the rafters and get our house in shape for Christmas.

It's early, but just like last year, I'm in the holiday mood a little early.

And unlike last year, when you're {over} prepared for a baby, you start looking for projects and ideas to occupy ones time and thoughts.

So, what do you think about the unspoken guideline of waiting until Turkey day to start the Christmas festivities? Are you like me and overeager to get ready? Or do you wait until Thanksgiving?

Yesterday, I bought my dad one of those light up snowmen for the front yard. He was complaining about having to string lights each year, so I thought this would be a great early Christmas present. When he opened it, I was eager to get it outside, and he stated that we need to wait until Thanksgiving. Hmph... I spent today making Christmas cards despite him! :)

We listened to Christmas music all the way to Macy's (to see the 8th floor). I am in the holiday spirit early, and I too, am hoping to do a little arm twisting this week to get the decorations out.

Generally we wait because Nate and I both have birthdays the week of Thanksgiving - but this year I am totally psyched for Christmas already and I think I'm going to slowly start putting things out here and there to see if he notices, lol.

How funny - I just posted about putting up our Christmas decorations early, too! Guess the spirit is moving a few of us early this year...

I'm not a big Christmas decorator (I think my parents overzealous decorating turned me away completely) but growing up, Christmas decorations were up as soon as November hit and ALWAYS by Thanksgiving. Besides, you're going to be a little occupied in a couple weeks, why not make use of the time?
