Quality Friday: Sleeping In.

Daylight's Savings Time really screwed us up around here. And when I say, us, what I really mean is H.

I'm realizing that gaining an extra hour of sleep really only matters to people that can tell time. Because H, could care less about the extra hour of sleep.

We changed clocks almost two weeks ago now, and the morning after, he was up an entire hour earlier than usual. We kept him up an hour later the next night with hopes that he would be so tired he would sleep later than usual.

No such luck.

As a matter of fact, he has progressively been getting up earlier and earlier each day since Daylights Savings Time.

One day 6:30am, 6:00am, 5:30am, 5:15am....4:00am.

Oh yes. Four O'Clock in the Stinking Morning.

J leaves for work early, usually by 6:00am. This ensures him less traffic and no at-home chaos before he leaves. So those days little H decides to wake up extra early, make me have to get up extra early so my husband can get out the door for work.

In the past, when we have somewhere to be H has slept in causing me to wake him, if we have nothing going on, he's up at the crack of dawn.

Lately he's been getting up early no matter what.

To put it plainly, I'm t.i.r.e.d.

So yesterday morning, when I heard H start to stir at oh, let's just say prior to 4:00am, I groaned.

Why are you doing this to me??!??

I walked into his room and saw him standing up, smiling, in his crib.

Picked him up and his arms instantly went around my neck and into my hair. In moments I could hear the heavy breathing of sleep again.

Back to bed.

I awoke to his laughter and sunshine beaming into my room, my husband asleep beside me.

I quickly looked over at the clock.

7:15am.

J was going into work later. I was going into work later. We didn't have to get T and M off to school or on the bus.

It was the perfect morning for sleeping in, and I'm oh-so-thankful for the extra rest.

I needed it.

Here's hoping for more good mornings, because even the most-morning-person of us all has a hard time keeping a smile before 6:00AM.

Happy Quality Friday!
