First Day of School.

Is summer really over already? The alarms went off at 6:01am and we excitedly hustled and bustled around until it was time to go to the bus stop.
Fresh start. Blank slates. New clothes, books and shoes. And of course, new friends.

Second and Fourth.
Second, Fourth and a wannabe busrider.
He's ready. Three years early.
Fall is here, hear the yell
Back to school, ring the bell
Brand new shoes, walking blues
Climb the fence, books and pens
I can tell that we are going to be friends
Yes I can tell that we are going to be friends
...
We clean up and now it's time to learn
Numbers letters learn to spell
Nouns and books and show and tell
Play time we will throw the ball
Then back to class through the hall
The teacher marks our height against the wall
...

I was always so overjoyed when it was the first day of school and I hope that passes on to my own kids.

First of all, was it DARK when the kids caught the bus there to school? What time does that bus come???? (Perhaps it was just a rainy morning?)

Everybody looks so excited for the big day...was it as expected for them? Poor H to have to wait a couple more long years to board the bus himself. Love the sunglasses perched atop his head!
