His Prize.

We never, ever, ever just randomly buy our kids toys {candy, movies, games...} at the store. {Just another way I am a mean mom, let me count the ways.} I love the fact that because the expectations have been set and clear forever they don't beg and ask for things when we're shopping. From time to time there will be requests, but the answer is no and that's the end of that. We usually remind the kids to put items they are requesting {ie toys, movies} on their Christmas or birthday list. And they do.

J lost his {very expensive, irreplaceable} cell phone the other day and I literally turned my house inside out looking for it. I had the kids staying in from playing with friends to help me offering rewards and prizes for whoever could find it. {Prizes such as a toy from Target, that's the one that stuck for H!} In the end, it was found, with J, in his work belongings. {Yes this made me want to scream just a teensy, tiny bit.}

T and M were happy with a smoothie prize the night it was found but H was in bed and the next morning he asked right away about finding dad's phone so we decided that since he had helped search for it, we would still take him to Target to choose a prize.

I am pretty sure I have never seen a child appreciate something as much as he does.

He's so proud, so thankful and just so stinkin' cute rockin' his Optimus Prime costume set.
