Happiness in a Helmet.

Happiness is letting your almost four year old wear his bike helmet during a shopping trip at Target.

For seven hours straight today, that red helmet stayed strapped on his head. Biking in the neighborhood. Playing in the playhouse. To the library. Home to bike some more. To Target. Through Target. Home from Target.

Some things are no-brainers.

This was one of them for me. Why make a deal out of the helmet? So I got some funny looks. I usually do anyway. So some people stopped and asked what the deal was. It made for light hearted chuckles, smiles and high fives throughout our trip.

And in the end, he was happy.

So was I.

I love this! You are getting your money's worth I say! ;)
Last Friday I took my kids on a shopping trip to Walmart...Hailey wore a tutu, tiara and her fancy plastic shoes...and I cannot tell you how happy we made a good dozen elderly couples who we encountered on our leisurely 2 hour stroll around the store...Everyone stopped to smile and say 'hi princess' - it actually restored some of my faith in humanity!
As parents - we have to pick our battles - and this certainly isn't one of them worth picking is it! what an adorable little man you have!

I love that you let him do that! So many people wouldn't. Why not I always ask my SIL...no harm and it makes him happy.

As a parent, sometimes we need to pick our battles. My daughter wears PJ's some days. No harm. And he looks so happy in his helmet!

I am very jealous - look how wide your Target aisles are!! (in NY even the new Targets have narrow aisles because square footage is so expensive, they squeeze everything in)

You might as well encourage the helmet wearing as at some point, he'll probably put up a fight about having to wear it. Love all the pics- so adorable.

I would let him wear it too. I let Connor wear two different shoes for about 2 weeks because he thought it was cool. And the other day, he wore his jeans backwards all day.
